Children International

Children International was founded in 1936 as an outreach organization for widows and children in need. In the 1980’s Children International was able to expand that work to provide more tangible help with lasting results to children, their families and the communities with which they work. Through employing a network of local staff, Children International is able to help the community build a foundation of self-reliance on which it can continue to progress at the point that Children International’s work is no longer needed.

Through their one-on-one sponsorship program Children International helps ease the burdens of poverty that so many families face. This sponsorship program unites impoverished children with caring individuals who donate $25 each month to help provide for the child’s immediate and basic needs.

As part of the sponsorship program a child can receive: nutritional assistance if they are malnourished, regular annual checkups, access to education, leadership training, community initiatives, and family services. Presently, Children International currently serves over 335,000 children in the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Zambia, Colombia, Chile, India, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and the Philippines and their life-changing services have been delivered to over 1,000,000 children living in poverty.

Children International has a long established history of being highly rated by Charity Navigator and the BetterBusinessBureau both in terms of efficiency and capacity.
